Very good I have noticed before on a few occasions a few guys doing this and landing more variety but bigger size wise. So for instance they may get tailor but also big bream, dart, etc.
I am guessing we would have to rework this with wire? How do you do it in a practical sense ?
It works exactly the same with wire. Note that this method is only for single hooks - not gangs. I use a single 6/0 for Tailor, and it works a charm. The problem that I have in Aus is that the "ghost cotton" is really hard to find. I get family members from South Africa to post it over for me. I have only seen it once in Anaconda at Ashmore ..... anybody else know where to get it locally??Originally Posted by apconcen

Mine are still salted, three maybe 4 weeks old now, old briney will have to be met soon otherwise feed the local wildlife without getting a feed.
Dental floss works as well. There is some other stuff that we used to use many years ago....used to get it at spotlight....stuffed if I can remember what it is called. When I remember I will post it up.
Hat elastic and 'baitmate' are other products that will work.

Had no problems with heavily salted pillies with 4x4/0.
Been salted for some 7 or 8 weeks now, still in the esky outside and not in the fridge along with a salted down grinner (big grinner at that). (Don't know what will eat a grinner at this late stage).
we might have to peter if we dont get out soon.
