You can get plenty of so called 'rock wrigglers' digging along the front of the Redcliffe peninsular. I used to dig mine at Scott's Point, but that's now a green zone, but there's plenty of rocky rubble areas exposed at low tide up at the Scarborough end of the peninsular. You can also get some just next to the Woody Point jetty if you know the green zone boundary exactly. Use a good strong garden fork, scrape away the loose rocks on top and dig a section of the clay and rock mixture beneath. Try to dig an area that doesn't look recently disturbed. Dig a trench about a metre and a half long and then work along one edge turning the clumps into the trench each time. As you lever each new block away from the edge you'll see the worms stretched out between the block and the fresh ground at your feet. Break the clumps up with your hands to get the worms intact. It's back-breaking work but you'll get plenty of worms, enough for a decent session in an hour or so.
