Lake Dyer - Bill Gunn Dam

    Hi All

This little impoundment suffered a fish kill some time back and most believe stocks may not have recovered.

With the recent inflow into this little dam, things have got stirred up.

We went along to snare some big spanglies - 25-30cm models

Late 1 afternoon we got a hell of a surprise - Landing Big Bass in the best condition ever, these fish were in better condition than any Somerset or Big W models. Best went 51cm

Have Snared silvers to 48cm and Yellows to 52cm.

There is still quality fish in this impoundment. Just good luck catching them as they are in the best condition of any impoundment fish.

And there are some quality spanglies around as well

    Cheers

Good to hear of some decent fish coming out of there. I havent been there for ages as the lake was so low for so long.

    Thanks Thepato

I know there is still some big bass left, there was a group of fish working the shallows late afternoon against the stone wall that sent shivers up my spine.

    Good luck to you though........................

Once upon a time I fished that dam when I was a kid living in Gatton.

In fact I caught my first yellowbelly there from the rock wall at the back of the golf club.

I remember when it was dry - completely dry:cry:
