Update on PDR Conditions
Just to let you all know, that the PDR is very drivable at the moment, at least to Weipa anyway. I drove out from Weipa to Carins on Wednesday, to get the car service (wont use local) and it took about 11 1/2 hours with myself, the wife, and 2 kids under 2 1/2.
I drove back on Friday with just myself and the kids (wifey staying out for a girls weekend - I think its just an excuse so I couldn't go fishing). The drive took less than 11 hours - which includes lots of stops for the little ones.
Main Roads having been working hard making it drivable for the last 2 weeks, with the only spots that are rough are; 20km north of Laura - large holes and hard to see, and the strech from Aurukun turnoff to Sherger RAAF base - many many holes and gough marks, but all dry. If you take it slow you can tow anything up.
Hope this helps, those coming this way.
Cheers

Re: Update on PDR Conditions
Wish I had the chance. Have to go to work in Cairns for the next 4 weeks. Leaving this afternoon by plane, however would love to take my Discovery 11 and tinny up there for a week or so.
