last year it was run from the trailer boat club at manly on the same week in august it used to be on when it was at straddie (the exhibition week) now it is called the (morteon bay classic i think). I think it is run by the same people that run the old sraddie classic. last year was the first year at manly and i think it is on again this year.

I am one of the organisers of the Moreton Bay Fishing Classic. We actually have organised a weigh in station at One Mile, Dunwich at Straddy at Little Ship Club for those who miss the beach fishing. Weigh in each day is between 11am and 12pm. To make sure you can join in the fun at Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club at Manly nightly the Calypso flyer will be travelling from One Mile on Friday 6 August and Wednesday 11 August to Manly and back. The flyer will leave One Mile at 5:30 pm and return by 9:30 pm. For only $25 you can do the return trip on either day.

To make it easier we have just launched the new website to support this year's competition. The entry forms can be downloaded and sent into the Club at Manly. No passport photo required this year, we will be issuing cards and you will need id each night to collect your prizes if you win.

Don't be too sure you won't win, there are more prizes and more fun this year than last. Entertainment is really good too. Carlton girls will be back and the beer will be cold.....

Last year during August I'm sure there was a competition on Sth Stad sponsored by one of the resorts (maybe Coran Cove I think). I saw the poster for it at the bottlo near Runaway Bay shopping village.

It seemed like good value as they had a weekend package available inclusive of transport there, accommodation & entry fee. I was interested in the beach fishing category.

I missed out by a week as I was heading o/s but I would have liked to participate.

Does anyone know of the one I mean? I'm wondering if its an annual thingy.
