Gav, You did very well mate. You must of cracked a pattern that has me stumped. Glad to hear someone is catching them
I havent put a barra in the boat up at teemburra in the past 11 trips of about 4 hours each trip average. Had a couple of hook ups but none into the boat.
A guy I have gotten to know has been fishing teemburra for the past 14 days with a morning and arvo session each day for a total of 3 fish, believe me this guy is no smuck and knows the dam well. Prior to that he did a 10 day stint morning and arvo for 1 fish before going to eungella to chase sooties.
Has got me beat at this point but I will be back up there next weekend again to try and figure the frustrating bloody things out.
My mate Isaac has been smashing the barra and sooty atm on his new car topper. Most on HB casted at dam wall on sunset. Most fish around the mtr with a few around 1.1
Hey Birko , what lures are you using and where do you fish. I mainly fish the sticks with Tangos & Slick rigs and if I get bored swap to spinnerbaits and chase sootys .I have had a few donuts at Teembra but last year I caught 60% of my fish at Teembra in the colder months.
Cheers Gav
Thanks gav. Have been using alsorts and all locations including the timber and tango's and plastics. Your right about last year being a cracker winter. Sounds like you had an exceptional day your last trip. Hasn't fished well for me up there since the large inflows. Apreciate the tips. Birko
Gav, do you find you do better in the late afternoons or during the day when it's cool? I'm going to Teemburra this weekend, but not sure whether to do an afternoon session on Saturday or midday session on Sunday.
Hmm, seems to be a bit of a Barra chasing crew out this way. I've been off the Barra dams for the last few years, concentrating on other interests and just plain slack, but am keen to get stuck back into them.
We did a trip to Eungella last weekend for zip, will try Teemburra this Sunday. Will probably head over in the morning, get started mid-morning and see how we go from there. Won't stay too late as I have work again on Monday morning.
I'm in the workshop at Riverside. We're heading to townsville next weekend but will probably be fishing somewhere the following weekend. Where are you at Dave?
We'll see how we go this weekend at Teemburra, if we do OK we might head back up the following weekend, if not, well, depends on the weather, but might do a creek trip somewhere.
