I thought I would just mention I put the boat in for a quick flick with Sps for squire this morning .On the water at 5.45 but low water was 6.45 so only had a small opportunity of fishing the run out. It was more a recon to see if there were squire pushing up the river away from the mouth. They were there but timid and stuffing around with plastics, Not smashing them:sad: Converted 2 fish with one 34 cm and the best one going 40 cm. Arh yeh scored a stinking catfish on a placie  , it happens occasionally. Home early but at least I know it;s worth targeting a few spots around the gateway for squire....... Cheers hope this helps if anyone is fishing the mid river over the long weekend
Spent some time in the river this long weekend and it paid off with an 80cm jew (first one) and saw some good fish being pulled. I have tried for squire up near the bridge and it was quiet then so do they only come up when cold. Saw some fish busting up on the east of the main warf area maybe tailor early sun. am. I tried for one of those big snapps but no luck yet but i will be back.
