Ford Ranger / Mazda BT-50 diesel

Just wondering what sort of fuel consumption blokes are getting from their Ford Ranger or Mazda equivalent in the 3 litre diesel. I am looking at going diesel from the Ford Territory as she is pretty thirsty towing the boat (about 1800kg all up I guess) at 17 to 18 litres per 100 km.

I like the look of the Ranger XLT in the manual - 3 Tonne towing capacity. Keen to hear how they tow and how "the wife" finds driving it around town. Any pros or cons etc.
    Cheers

10-10.5 litres per100 km around town .Tall toolboxes ,ladders ,machinery, paint boxes of whirlybirds and all the hooha ,passenger window down and aircon on .towing is a non event plenty of torque.Clutch is holding on could be a little tighter though.

9.0 lt/100kms on the highway lightly loaded, 10.5 l/100kms commuting to work, 12 l/100kms towing the boat (but it's not a big boat).

9.5 lt to 100 km, day to day driving. 14.5 in 4th gear @ 95 km ph towing 1800-2000kg(depends on fuel etc) boat. 17.5 towing the boat at 115 in 5th. No problems so far 35,000 ks. Not a good car to park as they have a big turning circle and the back seat on the dual cab is cramped for room.
