Timi living on the water edge..I can see it now..Tim with a gutful of hooligan soup..trots off down to the pontoon for a fish and into the drink he goes. I reckon even the bullies should be afraid.
I believe it's the first time Tim has 'landbased' fished the Raby Bay canals....with success. I showed him some of my techniques the other afternoon and followed up with another lesson today. As he was too busy unpacking I decided to use this pontoon to my advantage and maybe score the first fish caught from here.
There was constant heckling from the kitchen area - "are you on yet?" and "have you caught anything yet?" and the like from the annoyed owner. A few minutes later I was on to a decent fish. No noise coming from the kitchen and obviously he couldn't hear me either, so I rang him and asked him to bring the net down. I think he was a little p!ssed off not to have landed the first fish off his own pontoon. I was fishing with 10lb string straight to the 1/12th oz Nitro jighead (no leader) and trying to keep the fish from taking me under the neighbours pontoon. When Tim finally arrived with the net I slowly brought the fish into view. A nice lizard. I was hoping it was a new pb for me, but after measuring it it was equal to mine - but a first from Tim's pontoon. After releasing the flatty, Tim grabbed my 2nd outfit and proceeded to cast the r2s bubble pop around as if to say "if you can do it so can I" . Seconds later he's on to a nice pansized GT. I'm not sure if he liked my attempt at netting his 1st GT. As the fish was glided to the net I knocked the lure and the fish swam back underneath the platform. Sorry Tim  .
Thanks for the invite to fish Tim. A 74cm Flathead for me and and a 40-45cm GT for Tim.
Cheers,
Wags

Unable to attach images at this time...
LOL @ Wags. AKA "Mr. don't come near my fish with that f#$%ing net".
I don't even mind a trickle that Wags pulled the first fish, and what a mighty catch at that! Can't wait for more.
A couple of days ago a Lady two doors up popped in for a chat. I mentioned looking forward to having a fish, and she said it was impossible to catch fish here, they are too smart. I kinda knew she'd be wrong, but thought we'd wait for photos before arguing!
Hmmmm. Sun's coming up. Should I go chuck a popper around?
Cheers,
Tim

It's good to see these bigger fish in the canals Murf. It will be even better to catch it again, and again and again.
