    Bulwer 24-4-10

Hey all, haven't put a report up for a while due to the lovely weather we have been having.
Yes the weather was still crap Saturday morning, but the bro and I took off anyway.
Left Spinnaker around 5.30am in the rain. Bashed our way across to Moreton.
Stopped twice to have throw at some small mac tuna, but no hook ups.
Arrived at Curtin around sun up, plenty of boats there already, drifted around the edges of them, not a lot happening.
A few small squire, ginners, reefies that was all, plenty of bait around though.
Headed off to the Bulwer wrecks and started drifting the drop off up to Comby point.
Plenty of whiptails around as usual, some larger squire, some bust offs on the light gear.
We landed a nice Morwong (I think?) on 8lb and a Gulp Craw.
A few good cod on PE flies and live whiptails.
Missed some larger fish through bite offs.
Great morning, all be it a bit wet and wild at times.
    Back at Spinnaker around midday.

Can someone confirm this is a morwong or not.
It was a long fight on the lighter gear and it took me a good 15 minutes to get it healthy enought to swim away.
But it did and so did the rest of them.

    Red.
    Cheers and thanks.

Thanks Chief, at times it was just perfect, other times we wondered if we were going to make it back to Bribie.
Love going over there though, it is just a great place to be.
    Cheers and thanks.

Second that. Morwong can be picked by the big rubber lips.

I sat over at the bottom of Bribie catching whiting and could see storms running over the top where you were. I was pretty well unaffected by the little squawls with a light drizzle at worst.

    Cheers

I love it mate. I'm getting used to having something that actually does it's job.
The mapping is great and I don't know how I ever did without it.
Thanks again Steve. We will fish soon!
    Cheers and thanks.

    Well done mate

Did you get a chance to throw any of the deepthroaters around?

what size/type of boat is that, doesn't look much bigger than mine (4.45 stessco)

am a bit iffy on taking it to moreton have not been boating for that long.

    cheers

    Re: Bulwer 24-4-10

Hey Dan, how are you mate?
I did throw one around mate, got it stuck on a bit of reef, gone!
I only took one with me, so that was that.
I was looking forward to hooking up with one, just so I could tell you about it!
Boat is a 4.5m Brooker Safari Deluxe with a 40hp Yam.
If you ever want to launch from up this way let me know and I will come with you, or at least show you the best way to get there.
I always take plenty of water and at least 60L of fuel.
I can normally get from Bribie to Moreton, do some running around over there, then back again on about 24L.
It can be a nasty piece of water in the wrong conditions.

    Red.
    Cheers and thanks.
