    Re: anchor rope

We just pein shackles especially on overnight anchor. Bolt cutters if we ever need to remove. Seen a undo themselves and too easy for tie wire to break off on a rock etc. Friend uses stainless and wire crimp or bends a stainless split pin through them as they are thick and flexible.

For the record, I anchor a 7m cat that weighs 3.5T. 12mm is good!

Yep i agree! But would you anchor a 4.8m tinnie with 12mm rope?
Alcohol doesn't agree with me, but i sure do enjoy the argument!!!

    Re: anchor rope

I have been using 8mm all my life and yet to break it once..I went from a 5.5mtr boat to a 7mtr plus boat and still yet to break that same rope. Larger rope will just cause more drag and take up extra room.
