Thread: Tarp config

    Tarp config

I have a 26 x 26 tarp but am frustrated by my inability to weatherproof the whole set-up.
I am looking at a 30 x 30 and trying to incorporate sides into the one piece utilising a centre ridge and two side ridges with spreaders and poles to provide a more flexible range of weatherproofing options.
While difficult to explain the whole concept stems from the fact that I spent plenty of time last camping holiday wearing unpleasant weather. I would like to avoid that in the future.
Can anyone help with a few ideas. Will try and get a sketch up soon.

    cheers Wow

Use shade cloth for the sides as it blocks rain but lets the wind through putting less stress on the whole structure.

    Yeah thanks Heath & Griz
It goes over a tent which takes up approximately 1/3 of the footprint and is our living area naturally and the front faces the east when we usually camp at Brunswick.

As Griz said. use shade cloth for the sides. I think its your only option as using a tarp for the sides when there is a bit of wind will put a lot of pressure on the structure.
