    Bimini Ideas

Looking for a quality 3 bow bimini with rocket launcher for rods. Hoping to acquire something of sound quality that will last. I have looked at a few DIY jobs but quality lacks somewhat and I don't have the necessary tools jor time. Boat is a 4.2 tinnie. Any suggestions. Living between Tin Can and Hervey Bay.

I take it you're looking for a permanent bimini, then (as opposed to foldable)? I've no clue myself, but am looking into bimini's at present also - for 4.4 sea jay. I'll be watching this thread with interest.

    Re: Bimini Ideas

Hi Guys , have been playin around with ideas for a bimini for ages on my 435 tabs , I originally purchased a cheap one from bias boating and found it quite poor as it flexed a mile in anything but a slight breeze , so I made a new set of tubes for it upgrading from 7/8 tube by 1.6 mm wall to 25 mm od by 3 mm wall.It fits like a glove but I still find that it moves around a little and i have secured it at the rear with adjustable ally struts not ropes or straps.I am still a little disappointed with its performance . After having a friend buy a kingfisher canopy I reckon these would be the ideal thing , they are solid underway , very versatile and provide good shade , although not the prettiest thing you will ever see I think that they are definitelt fit for purpose .Hope this helps .

    Cheers

Thanks pete. Are the Kingfishers quick and easy to take right off? I am happy to have no roof when solo - my main need for the bimini is for family trips. So easy-off is mandatory.

I was looking for something similar mysef and came across this targa top i was going to go to the local boat builder and ask how much to make one like this. Takes away the strapes that get in your way whilst fishing.

Easily folds down into the boat for traveling and storage - no problem putting your
boat in the garage or through into the backyard.

    1) Undo thumb screws and drop cover holder down
    2) Undo wing bolts and swing Targa down into boat

This takes all of 1 minute to do

    This, to this, to this.

    Re: Bimini Ideas

Yeah thanks Ian, I've seen this product's plans advertised online and while I like what I see getting around to putting it all together or having someone else put it together is the issue. However I appreciate your response.

    cheers Wow
