I think The hull has been around for a long time before it came to australia. maybee the licensee messed with it in aus. they didn't decide to go that way. there's a standard one on here well priced. Id be going for standard rather than some experiment that was abandoned

I agree with Predator and Crunchy, looks dodgy to me. I would not touch it.

Looks like someone was trying for more bow lift. Maybe they didn't like the ride as it was.

Have you had a water test? Have you ridden in a standard version so you can compare?

If it performs well and you can steal it compared to the others on the market then rob it!

Given its lower perceived value in the market place if you buy real low and sell just as low what have you lost?

    Cheers

If it was a proto type & they didnt go that way i would stay clear of it. If it was good why didnt they produce them?
In the pic's it looks like he couldn't hold the angle grinded steady.
Look inside if you can & see if there is a huge lay up of glass where the mods are. Leigh

Maybe a call to Estuary Marine in WA might help. Its their sticker on the side so they might know some history.

    Re: southwind ub580 modified hull

    hi guys
spoke to estuary - they dont remember ever seeing a modified one come though - they also recon any prototype developed by southwind was always crushed not released for sale - its an interesting one - if i can get it cheap enough would it be worth looking at getting someone to clean up and maybe reglass that section - anybody know what fibreglassing would cost these days - roughly obviously .

the boat is in Perth if that helps anyone identify at all

i Have offered $15000 - it has a good trailer and a 90 hp yamaha 2 stroke - with approx 110 hours on it .

    cheers
