    King George Whiting in SA

Next Wednesday, I am flying down to Adelaide for a holiday and one of my objectives is to catch a KG Whiting.

Iwill be land-based (Virgin doesn't have towbars) and would like to land just one for my bucket list.

Has anybody got and hints on where I might try?

    IRegards Chappy

    Hi Chappy

If you were going to Kingston SE I could tell you where to get them, with a half pippy casting just short of the weed line; so if you can get on a jetty at Glenelg or similar you might crack one or two there doing similar. Damn nice fish those KGW!

    Enjoy

    Cheers

Land based down at sims cove in Moonta u generally will catch a mixed bag of KGW, Yellowfin whiting and mullet. As you walk onto the beach you will see a sandbar about 15meters from the sand, walk through the water onto the bar and cast just in front of the weed line.

I am taking my Okumo travel rod (4 piece light spin graphite job) and a Diawa 2500 series reel loaded with 4kg mono.

The rod and reel came with a magazine subscription and I have not tried it out yet.

50mm Reidy poddy mullet hard bodied lures are on the agenda.

Your tactics NTMID8 are most appreciated. Similar to there smaller cousins up here.

Chino, the jetty angle will be tried and I appreciate the info.

I will post the results when I get home.

3 of us are celebrating turning 65 and the wife and I are celebrating 44 years married.

Dont ask why Adelaide from Tin Can Bay Queensland but thats where we are going.

Next year, we are looking at W.A. or maybe the Gahn.

    Thanks again for the iunfo
    Chappy
