Like I said. Icom make some good quality gear, their Marine radios are top of the heap. Sadly the IC-400PRO CB was not a top grade radio(neither are the IC-207H/IC-208H dual banders)

My brother has sold and been an agent for all the main brands - for 4wd use - and has used them in the field and in off road comps for 13 years. He has always had GME and Uniden over the years, but in the last few years has moved towards Icom. I asked him which one and he didnt hesitate and said spend the extra coin and get the Icom. So I did and very happy with the all in Mic unit. Mine is the IC-440.

One thing is im not into programming them myself and the likes or else i may have considered the tait's. Am looking at the ICOM ic440, all in handpiece model. Now to save the money for it, had to spend what i thought i had for it
