Gidday Hilly Mate I had one of these in my Bluefin 4.2m tinnie and found it to be a great sounder. It was mounted on a swing bracket and was above the gunnel and never missed a beat, got wet and never leaked. This was mine for 4 years and when sold to another Ausfisher was going strong, boat and all.Would not hesitate to get another.Jim

I had one on my previous boat, it worked well and I never had any water proofing or reliability issues with it.

I've had one on my previous boat and it worked great. In fact, I seem to like it more than my Raymarine DS500, although that could be because I haven't figured out how to use it properly yet.

Good gear for the price. I think they're being superceded currently but if its the b/w one with the 480pixel screen i've been out with one a cpl of times (about 3yrs old) and looked terrific and worked an absolute treat in 40-70m of water that we were spotting up. He has his pretty much set for the same water tho and knew the settings for good bottom seperation. Like any sounder tho its getting used to it in the water u fish. Seemed perfect at 20 knots too. I think its a single 200 transducer and u wouldent need a dual one if its bay work. I still prefer b/w screens tho coz always used them and cant get my eye around this digital colour stuff..too much bloody colour and information for my liking. Some things best NOT overkill i reckon...plus i hate complex menu's and stuffing around with settings and downloads. U can simply whack on a bit of that clear anti glare sheet that helps cut down the glare and see detail better. Plus for the price u can get a replacement in a few yrs time and still be in front. Check to see if there's a seperate paddle wheel for speed u may want to buy and whack on at the same time.
