couldn't get past 9

the day started of at a real casual 9.45 launch at manly after i picked up my youngfella for the weekend,had my sis and nephews onboard as well,so we headed to the pots we set last nite the 1st pot we pulled had 2 keepers,next had 2, 3rd had none and the 4th had none either,bloody farmers again,went to my 2nd string of pots and u guessed it 1st 2 pots 5 keepers next 2 had none,share farmers again although this time a mate anchored bout 300mtrs away had seen the boat who pulled them,was the boat that took off when i got there,i know the boat now so look out ,so off to the rous we go pulled up to my squid spot and out with the jigs,1st drift we got 6 squid,next drift 1 and was pretty quiet from then on,moved a bit further up got on a patch of tings got 9 in bout 5 minutes then couldn't find them again,got 2 more squid and called it quits for the day so 9 was the magic number today,9 sandies,9 squid and 9 tings,all and all ws a good day out with my family,even though i wanted to throw my little nephew overboard as he wouldn't shut up,my 2 nephews caught there 1st squid each so where wrapped,eldest 1 got covered in ink from the 1 he caught haha

not a bad effort especally checking you pots that late prob been done a coupple of times by the time you got there.

Don't you love those Crab Thieves. I think we have to stop calling them share farmers and call them as they are. I thought the whiting might have been a bit more active in the Rouse area

didn't have much run in the tide when i started fishing,going to give it a go again tommorrow,hopefully do a bit better,spread my pots alot further this time,how did u go get any today mate

Howdy Rosco , I had a mate fishing the rouse today and he reported the whiting very hard to locate and lots of weed making the squid jigs difficult to work.
Nice feed you gathered but pity about those low life crab thieves.
Do you have much luck setting the crab pots in the Rouse area?

there was a bit of weed when i got over there but it seemed to drop off with the run,but then again so did the squid,took some pots over the rous once this yr didnt raise a crab,use to do ok around xmas time.tis a long way to go to crab,
the crabs have deffinately been slow this year,

someone will catch these thieves and i hope its a mate of mine whose been on the look out for them in this area fairdinkum if he catches them he will take the motor off thier boat and chuck it in the drink
