    arvo at the scarby

Headed out to scarborough reef for a light hearted session playing with the bream and maybe a squire to fill in the afternoon and get the kids out in the glorious weather.
First ten minutes seen some good bream landed on hard bodies, then this float cruises past attatched to something. We give chase with the electric and get close enough to see it's a shark with about a meter and a half of leader and then a turnip float, After a few figure eights around the bommies an accurate lure cast hooks the line and pulled the float free. It would have been nice to get the hooks out as well but you can only do what you can. I'm sure he will be fine.
Time to go chase the squire, first controlled drift over an old spot flicking plastics and thump on goes a 60cm snapper at 3:30 in the afternoon.gotta love them snapper. As we drift across a few more spots i see a big crab pot float take off and go under not to resurface again,so keep an eye out if you are in the area there may be a turtle tangled up in it.
A couple of smaller squire and a decent flathead rounded out the afternoon,so all in all a good session. The water was reasonably clear but there is a lot of debris and garbage floating about so take it easy

Nice report mate, 60cm is a quality fish.
Don't ya just love how hard those snaps go on the plastics.
Is that a pumpkinseed snapback hanging out of his gob?
An old favourite plastic that i use now and then.
    Cheers Brent
