    green's gettin hammered

went for a run this arvo with my sis and nephews to set some pots for a feed on the weekend, had planned to set my 8 pots between green and st hellena but on arrival where i got 5 out of 1 pot last weekend i was amazed on how many pots where set around there,be atleast 50 in a 200mtr square area,so set mine in a few different places, checked 2 pots for 1 keeper on a 15minute soak, hopefully the farmers will leave my pots alone , this is more a heads up if u had planned to crab this area tommorrow morning,
    cheers rosco

People have been crabbing around Green for as long as the day is . I have seen literally hundreds of pots around the island at times.

It is not to far to go for the guys and gals in there tinnies either so at this time of the year it normally does get hammered.

Looking forward to hereing how you go rosco as I am back at work now and I wont be able to get out for a couple off weeks.

well rosco, there goes my crabbing for 3 days next week at green
i will still be going out, may just have to go elsewhere, i want to go mon/tues/wed/ to get a feed to take to the island on friday, any i get on monday i wont cook till tues, that way they should still be fine by friday
i dont like keeping them more than 4 days, whats your opinion on how long they last? the whiting are good size at the rouse, you should do ok, i caught mine on squid, saved the worms for another time when the squid arent working

    Robsue

You use the same time line as me, 4 days, that's it. If I still have any left after the 4th day they are shelled and frozen for crab cakes etc, but that still happens on the 4th day.

    Cheers
