Thread: monday crabs?

    monday crabs?

left manly at 4-45, put 4 pots in at green in 14ft water then proceeded to the rouse in flat conditions
i put a squid jig out and then fished for whiting, as soon as the bait hit the bottom i was on, had a very good bite session to start, then it went quite
i headed back to green at 9-30, with 36 whiting, 3 squid and 1 sandcrab [caught on line] onboard
big disappointment when i pulled the pots, only one legal sandcrab, no undersize or anything else in any pots, there was a boat nearby, dont know whether they were raided or not, but i will camp on my pots in future, and just do a bit of fishing to kill the time nearby
1.88kg of fillets from whiting, they were good size winter whiting
    cheers robsue

I was under the impression that the bag limit on whiting was 30? Perhaps the laws have been changed.

rouse whiting = winter/diver whiting nearly 90% time or more

always one isnt there......bag limit on winter whiting is 50
sometimes it pays to check before you make comments, no wonder a lot of people dont put in reports anymore

its as if some read with a critical eye looking for possible stuff ups rather than reading with an eye for learning and staying updated with what might be biting in their areas of interest

Very dissappointing comment, just a public display of ignorance.

Very surprising about the crabs, we should be approaching the best part of the season. I have always got my best catches in late march - april.

pretty sure he said he was under the impression, least now he knows, glad to see you guys were friendly in correcting him. he probably doesnt need to know anyway living up the coast catching trevs, jacks and summer whiting all the time. least he wasnt under the impression that the legal limit was 20 over the actual limit, would have loved to see how he was treated then... thats probably why people dont post on here anymore. thought its as much about learning as bragging what you've caught!
