I've been hanging out for a fish and as the wind looks like it will never subside decided on a Pine session with a mate, Alex, who is a new AF member. Launched at Deep Water Bend at a civilised 7am, dropped the obligatory pots and headed for the mouth while the wind was manageable. There was lots of activity, mainly mullet and what looked like chopper tailor braking the surface, but all we managed was one 25cm bream.
The wind started to come up making things unpleasant so we move to the "rock" for naught and then, when the tide was higher, the highway bridge.
Second cast at a pylon scored a solid 29cm bream - thought GREAT. Over the next couple of hours only managed two more of a similar size. Decided we were never going to match Freeeedom's efforts so headed further upstream - again for no result.
Went back to the bridge to finish the session and although we didn't land any more fish had an entertaining time being repeatedly bricked by something on the edge of a pylon. Would love to know what it was or how to get it away from it's hole.
Headed home about 2pm, picked up the pots for a couple of jennies and undersized and feeling suspicious when the final pot came up with no crabs or bait (securly placed in a holder) - anyway....
Still great to be on the water and get a breakfast if not a feed.
