A little while back I noticed a sad looking glass boat in a clients driveway.

It turned out that on the first run after buying the boat it nearly sank . The floor was pulled out and the stringers were shot and the bottom had been unsupported.

The client did not know much about boats so employed a boat checker to go over the boat for him and was given the all clear. He was in the process of taking the guy to court for the cost of repairs.

Do boat checkers have indemnity insurance as a standard? I don't know how the issue played out but it may be worthwhile checking insurance details just in case.
