pine river fizzer
rather than a bragging post, thought i would post a report that may be helpful for some.
went to the mouth of the pine river yesterday looking for some flatties, i used sp and hardbodies, i also trolled along the margins of the mangroves. I also used fresh caught mullet strips and drifted.
I also caught live bait (prawns and poddy mullet) and fished these. I tried hard. a lot of bait in the water made it look promising.
END RESULT after 7 hours on the water = Absolutely nothing!!!
river is still very dirty and fresh on the runout. watch out for big ass logs drifiting in the water.
may be an option to chase prawns next week.

Re: pine river fizzer
I was out yesterday checking out the bream. No prawns in the usual places but a few bream around the bridges best at the top of the tide. Caught about 15, kept 6. Didn't check the lower reaches as the south-easter was blowing pretty hard when I quit about 11.30.

Good on you cobber! Its easy to skite about the good days, only a true angler admits to the bad ones as well.

Thanks for the reports. I'm trying to get out Friday morning (fingers crossed) so I'll let you know how I go. Looks like it will still be blowing too much to head for the bay so was intending to drop a few pots and fish the highway pylons.

Re: pine river fizzer
the last two weeks have been a shocker - trust me to take my time off then. well and truly over it. freeedom - thats a decent catch. well done. i wasnt really overly that keen to catch more bream although i was getting bream bites on my large strips. i too moved up the river to get out of the wind. i did snare a couple nice jennies in the pots but of course they were returned. good luck lapras. bring on the 5-10knt winds and the longtail tuna i reckon.
