National Longtail Tuna Survey
Just read about this:
http://www.longtailtuna.com.au/
So what's everyone's take on it, especially how AIMS, CSIRO and the Qld Govt has shafted us in the past with our own information voluntarily given.
It's also worth it to note that Recfish Australia, Sunfish Qld, Recfishwest and a bunch of other Rec fishing lobby groups are supporting it. It that more of 'let's not bite the hand that feeds us (all are Govt funded) or do they genuinely think that this 'survey' will do more good than harm to our industry?

There is another thread on this and while some are sceptical on it i will support it with any info i can. On another forum it is well supported and the marine biologist is a member of that site.

Re: National Longtail Tuna Survey
thought I;d heard about it before now. I dunno what to make of it, then i spose they can't exactly close area to fishing becasue of them given that they don't stay in one spot and are constantly on the move, also, given they are unregulated, maybe they could do with a good dose of bag and size limits.
All this Govt sponsorship gives me the heebiejeebies though, so don't know what, if anything I should do about it. The positives are obvious, but the negatives bite, and hard
