Just came back from the river. threw the boat in for 2 hours on the top of the tide and flicked a few lures . Water is pretty dirty with a fair bit of fresh but managed to pull a few fish with 6 bream, flathead and a estuary cod. Took three new lures 2 jackall chubbies and I;ve never brought them with such poor quality hooks. I lost a couple of good fish as the hooks simply broke or straightened. I've used these for ages and I've never had this happen. Anyone else had a bad batch? and then a eco gear sx 48 check out the paint after a couple of fish. Another interesting pic is the cod, have a look at what he regurgitated up. Water has pretty poor visability but the fish were still pretty agressive and holding hard up to the rock walls. Hope this helps if someone is thinking of fishing the river cheers

You're keen chief!! Nice assortment there for a short session and with all that fresh, well done! (Just about don't need to wash the boat hey!)
Brilliant colours on the flathead and the cod, they have taken on the dark hue of the water.
I know that the production of Jackalls shifted to Taiwan a little while back but the hooks have never been as good as they should be.
They should not snap but after having em straighten on a small bream, I retrofit all mine now.
Mick.
Great effort chief.
Always a great report and always catching fish.
Well Done.
Jason.
FISHING IS NOT A HOBBY...................IT'S AN OBSESSION!!
Awesome chief! I had the same idea for tomorrow, so hopefully it pays off too.... Did you just fish the rockwalls?
Mickthe.... I eventually replace them with owner st-360 bc size 12s. I couldn't believe these hooks. I had one fish run along the wall and then slog it on the bottom and we parted as the hook snapped thro on the rear treble. I would have called it for a good lizard but hey I'll never know
well done chief good session for the dirty water
cheers Paul
nice work for the amount of fresh that should be pouring out the river Chief , is that a bream or biddy the cod ralphed up , whatever it is it`s huge for that little fella. did the current keep running out on the incoming tide? Cheers Andrew
Jesse..... Hey mate, I was fishing where I took you that day for your lizard, I was flicking right on the point where it bends in about 1.6 meters. I stayed up around there because it was only a small high of 1.5 meters and the flats around the mangroves were extremely shallow. The fish seemed to be hanging around that area pretty concentrated. Lost a good fish on a D40 f who ran like a freight train into the wall. Just had jack all over it . I was thinking of doing a threadie session tomorrow but I might have another go at the walls there. I think this little boat of mine is so well set up for this style of fishing it just keeps me coming back to these areas for some fun
Fishgutz... i got there about 3/4 hour before the top and mate it felt like slack water fior the whole time I fished. It was only a 1.5 high as well so your right , the only current was on the run out with the fresh behind it.
also mate it was a bream that was begining to break down that the cod had . Greedy little buggers aren't they
opportunistic pigs would better describe them , although at the right size they are very tasty. thanks for the report. Andrew
Mate, great reviews as usual! certainly a keen briz river fisherman even in the disgusting colour it has now
Wondering, which rockwall would this be? fisherman island wall or the sunken?
Yeh chief well I'm keen to fish around the top tide tomoz so might see u there...!
Jesse... the closer you can get those lures to the rocks the better. I was getting hit on the first couple of cranks.
hi paul, good effort. did u get wet?
