braddles,
i get bout the same amount of keepers for an overnite soak to a daytime soak, but normally do get more crabs of a nit e soak but normally alot more throw backs, last nite soak prob got 20-25 crabs with 2 keepers to this arvo's 12 crabs with 2 keepers, out of 4 pots
cheers rosco
I have not been this year (no boat) - but last year we got loads of Throw backs too.
Some spots, all undersized while other areas they were all good size, but bucks far and few between. Spent a lot of hours finding some decent crab haunts along the river banks. My mate from NSW would almost cry when I was throwing MASSIVE jennies back lol (they keep them legally I believe)...
Its interesting the colour variation too - some of the big ones are a real rust colour, while others are almost black... I wonder if this is related to age, or just variation in shell colour amongst the species.
