Yer just come back yesterday afternoon for a 3 day stint. The usual suspect of dart and big dart bream and whiting up north point and tailor bite. Didn't venture to the west or south. So can't comment on these spots. Mate we used pillies prawns and squid had a couple of touches on SP's but no takers.
Was over there between 19th - 22nd Feb, camped at CB7 on western side between bulwer and cowan.
Picked up nice haul of lizards betweens 40 and 59 at the old stump just north of cowan bypass exit on SP's (gulp minnows and bass minnows) along with a few pike and whiting.
Fished northpoint/yellow patch for nothing didn't even touch a bait.
Fished just north of green zone south eastern side in main gutter for 10 very good size dart, real thick and fleshy best dart have seen for awhile until bite shut down.
Also did ok outside campsite on the afternoons, picking up 50 cm lizard on popper, 2 x flounder and more pike.
Thanks for this encouraging report. I hope you left a few lizards behind for us although this recent weather may have changed everything. It will be interesting.
We had to cancel one of our past trips because of the Oil Spill.
I must admit we have had limited success at Moreton but then again it has always been a “fishing” trip and not a “catching” trip.
