    Re: Noble 685 Supervee

I decided on the icom 505 but its too big to mount in the bulkhead so it will be dash mounted. Why spend silly money on icom.... I have had 2 GME VHF units fail on me 1st one hand held mic broke, 2nd one filled up with water .
Icom 505 is submersible at 1.5m for 30 mins at test.

    Re: Noble 685 Supervee

just wondering guys what is the height of the boats as they sit on the trailer, would they be over 3 metres

    Re: Noble 685 Supervee

    Hey braddles.

Yep, definately over 3 metres. From memory its about 3.3m.

Had this problem before we got ours. The boat wouldnt fit under the car port

    Simple solution.

    Have the car port rebuilt!!!

    Re: Noble 685 Supervee

All of the updates on these 7.5's are making me jealous!!

That New Yamaha 300 should be fantastic!!

Cant wait to see more photos of the beasts Eddy and Marty!!
    Keep them coming!

I have been pretty slack with photos lately.

    Here's a couple though:

New Airmar 1kw, and the QL Tabs.

Also, bit of an update on the prop and engine height.
We had raised the donk 2 holes.
This made an improvement, but with slight cavitation evident, we will now be dropping it down 1 hole.
Will update once this has been done.
I also think the same prop in a 19 would be PERFECT. the revs are just that tiny bit lower than I would have liked with the 20.

    Re: Noble 685 Supervee

We will be mounting our outriggers very soon.

The plan is to run them from the hard top, with a nice chunky 6mm backing plate to keep everything in check and help stop it from flexing too much.

Photo's will definately be taken throughout the install.

    Any advie or recommendations?

Hey Ross , Like the QL's, they make a diference?? 15 1/4 x 20 Lexor chunky prop, what diffence that make compared to what you were using??? I'm going to try a 15 1/4 X 17 and hope I can still get enough RPM's, what revs you getting at WOT with the 20??
Out Riggers , love to see how you are going to set up , as I;m getting the same, and mount in a similar place, may have to get Noble to weld backing plates on the roof for reinforcement by what you are saying

    Keep the Pics comming!!!

Looks great Rosco. Did you look at a thru hull transducer? I will also be putting on the QL's had them on my old boat and they are great. My 300 will also be propped with a 20 I think. Yamaha says" if you think its a 17 then go a 20 on the new V6 series. I will be water testing mine after electronics fit out.

    Re: Noble 685 Supervee

Here are a couple of recent pics of my 6.25 I collected from Lucinda last month.

I have put in padded coamings - bought marine seat foam and marine grade vinyl from Clark Rubber.

I use two 52l tropical eskies for back seat they double as fishing seats and are really useful with the added rod buckets. I used ply with some silicon for traction and velcro to hold tight to esky box - one esky for fish and bait and the other for food and drinks - makes cleaning out the boat a breeze. Tropical brand eskies are dearer than most but have the heaviest hinges I have ever seen and are solid and well made. They offer the cushions pretty cheap too if bought with esky. If the fishing conditions are particularly wet windy and rough I just slide the esky in snug behind the seat box and prop myself against the back of the seat under the roof - all pretty comfortable from there out of wind and rain and still able to fish easily.

Presently adding new japanese bearings and dura-hubs to the trailer for peace of mind. Aparently the go is if you want good bearings use japanese or american - replace the chinese ones.

Will add next week a couple of Rae-line delux stainless steel frame seats with swell-ride shock absorber seat mounts to box tops - have to cut down seat boxes. Will add pics later when done.
