    Re: Noble 685 Supervee

She has come up a treat and looks great..I don,t think that Chinese built is necessarily a problem. Its all about Quality Assurance which I presume Noble is well on top of.....Time will tell I suppose...In the mean time have fun and catch lots of fish..

    Re: Noble 685 Supervee

Question for those that know more than I do.

Does the original Ben Noble still have a part in Noble boats? I heard he set up the company over in china then someone else grabbed the whole thing and re-started calling themselves "Noble boats International". As in China there are no laws preventing this kind ofthing.

I could be wrong, just something I heard along the way. Anyone know the truth?

    Re: Noble 685 Supervee

    Hey Flex,

Ben Noble is no longer involved at all with Noble Boats International.
This is due to unpaid debts.

I have cut and past this directly from a press release i found. I'd attach it, but its over 100kb so the forums won't let me.

Have a read, it should answer all of your questions

    By
    Jayne Munday
Queensland boat manufacturer, Noble Boats International, claims it has been largely unaffected by the
appointment of receivers to one of its major shareholders and suppliers.
On July 7 Nick Combis and Peter Dinoris of Vincents Chartered Accountants were appointed receiver-
managers of Noble Boats and Noble Boats No. 2 due to unpaid debts to one of the directors of Tianjian
Noble Boats International, which trades as Noble Boats International.
Noble No. 2 holds a 25 percent stake in Tianjian Noble Boats International, which was formed in 2008
through the merger of Brisbane-based Noble Boats and Tianjian Asia Industries.
Noble No. 2’s sole director and shareholder is Benjamine Noble, son of Noble Boats founder Rob Noble
(pictured). Noble is also a director of Tianjian Noble Boats International, alongside Alec Spencer,
Shaoxun Liang and Robert Kwan Po Lee.
Founded in Clontarf in 1980 as Noble Engineering, a specialist stainless-steel fabrication business, Noble
Boats went on to become a highly successful manufacturer of stainless steel plate boats ranging in size
from 5 to 12.5 metres, counting the likes of the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service and the
    Australian Navy as customers.
Following the merger Noble Boats and Noble Boats No. 2 were contracted by Tianjian Noble Boats
International for pre-delivery vessel fit-out services, an arrangement which is now terminated.
Tianjian Noble Boats International is the international plate aluminium manufacturer and wholesaler of
    Noble Boats.
A specialist steel fabricator, Tianjian Asia Group is based in China’s Guangdong Province, and has
annual revenue of US$6 billion. In 2007, it launched its international arm, Tianjian Asia Industries,
    based in Hong Kong.
While Noble Boats and Noble Boats No. 2 are in the hands of receivers, Noble Boats International is
continuing to trade successfully from its Brisbane headquarters, according to Operations Manager Jason
    Lee.
He says the company has recently established an initial national distribution and sales network of
proven marine dealerships in each capital city.
    Page 2
“We are pleased to announce the recent appointment of Fleet Marine in Melbourne as our major dealer
for the greater Melbourne and Victorian areas,” Lee says.
“Recent dealership appointments include Enterprise Marine Sydney, Cunninghams Marine Brisbane and
    J&B Marine Ingham North Queensland.”
Noble Boats International will also be showcasing its boats at the Brisbane International Boat Show
from August 26 until August 30, Lee says.
Its new generation batch of 120 vessels ranging from 5 metre to 8 metre, including centre consoles,
half and full-cabin vessels, are in the process of being imported, fitted out and delivered over the next
    few weeks and months.

I hope that answers your questions Flex.

It seems they are heading in the right direction with the new ownership I think.
They have plenty of financial backing from the parent company, and are putting plenty of $$$ into R&D. So they're in it for the long haul thats for sure.

I have heard about some seriously cool products that will be offered in the not too distant future too!!

Also, for anyone interested, the original Noble Boats is "Under External Administration":

    Re: Noble 685 Supervee

To be patriotic and buy Australian is all well and good and should be supported where possible, but how far do you go in sacrificing your requirements as a customer in order to support the local industry?

Unfortunaletly our production volumes are so low compared to OS manufacturers that I can only see an increase of imported boats in the market - more so given the strength of the dollar.

    Like the boat a lot!!

    Re: Noble 685 Supervee

    Ross,
I have just ordered my own Noble Super V Centre Cab and it was your post which pretty much sealed the deal. I did go with the 7.5m option only because I managed a good price on 2009 stock. Looking forward to taking it out and more posts on your experiences. Are there any flaws you have experienced as of yet? Did you get side scuppers or just the centre?

    Cheers

    Re: Noble 685 Supervee

    Ross,
Noble should give you a spotters fee, as I sighned up today for a 7.5 mtr with extensive customisation , see Captain Seaweed has done the same  , getting the hull built, and getting it fitted out here in Broome, still works out cheaper than getting a BMT package, and I get everything I want and fitted as I want.
Once again Ross a big thankyou for sharing your experience with getting a Noble

Will PM you with full details if interested

All I need to add are :
    1)Trailer (13-16k) depending on type
    2)Outboard $26,00 - $32,000 depending on size and type
    2)Electronics sounder, gps, radar (10k)
    3)Trim Tabs(?)
    4)Bait board custom made (1k)
5)Lighting deck lighting and remote search light($1k)
    6)Clears and minor upholstery

All in all under $100k for a fully optioned 7.5 sports cab on an aluminium trailer with everything required brand new. All boats I priced in that size with all those inclusions were $125k+.
