GPS Co-ordinates don't work

I have uploaded my co-ordinates to my Humingbird 700 series fishfinder/gps and no matter what the co-ordinates are wrong. The gps is righ and knows where I am but when I put in a spot, it is nowhere near where it is.

For example, if have entered the following, not once but 5 times: The Hummingbird GPS takes me miles north and way of track. Does anyone else have this problem? I am new to this and entered the data as East & South. It is like it is in the wrong format, my Hummingbird is set to WGS84. Can any one hep me?

Seems a stupid question but Ive done it before, are you selecting S and E, not N and W?

i did the same thing with my hummingbird. i got the first co-ord in right, but every other one defaulted to S and N cos i bought a usa model.

try zooming out on the monitor, and see how far out the marks are on the plotter. mine were actually in the northern hemisphere, duh....

try putting a - infront of the latitude mate eg. -34.31504. Or make sure that it is infact reading south for the latitude and not north. I work in drafting for a surveying company and have numerous times put in a number for latitude only to find it end up in the northen hemisphere *doh*
