    anyone for squid!!!

hi, had a day of work today so me and the old boy headed over for some squid. Left manly at 3am and went to a spot north of harries and had a fish for some squire, no keepers just unda squire. Went to amity to pick up my uncle at 5am and headed out to the banks ended up with 48 squid, some big buggers too.Perfect wether had a flat run home and back by 10am with a lot of cleaning to do.

matt, yeah mate heaps of rings and some good reef baits too. The boat and us got a bit of ink on it, hard not too just gotta clean it off straight away. We had 3 families to feed so it was good to get onto a few.

skipjack, we used pink and green that worked ok but my uncle had a white with red head that was working better as the sun got brighter.

    Awesome catch.....well done....

Q: how do you know squid are there? What do you look for? How deep was the water & how heavy a squid jig do you use?

we looked for weed beds on the edges of holes or drains in 1.8 to 3m of water. Or anywhere along the rock wall of amity.

Good haul huskii. Boy there would have been ducking and weaving as the ink flew lol. I had some squid sucking on my pilly,s on south west peel fri night and thought they might be around in good numbers. Oh and no snapps just heaps of under sized little buggers but got monstered mid week on the north side at 10 30 at night. Cheers
