Now Im the first to admit that Iam not the greatest fisherman, I have much to learn however there are alot of recreational fisherman like myself who are not having any success in the area.
This can be proved by chatting to any number of people as you drive up the beach or camp at night.
Surely the Trawlers returning home through the Wide Bay Bar one after another with their nets out or the " Professional Fisherman from Rainbow " who net the area for the female? mullet to export and waste everything else ( I have seen the results left on the beach as they leave ) are destoying any chance of an enjoyable weekend of fishing. A few fish for a feed would do me fine. I personnally enjoy the chase more than the feed anyway.
Unfortunately nothing is going to change any time soon in regards to professional fishing regs however Id love to hear if anybody else shares my opinion.
It is a brilliant place to get away for the weekend however as one of the pro wormers said to me over the weekend the ocean is a desert.
I look forward to the day that I have some success.
