    Friday night at the Banks

Left Mooloolaba about 2200 for a reasonable run to the Suthern end of the Barwon Banks. Started fishing about midnight with a fairly slow night in a fairly sloppy sea. Brightened up a bit on daylight but still pretty average, Finished up with 3 legal Pearlies (threw lots of undersize back) a big Coronation Trout (45 cm), 1 x Amberjack and 6 x Red Throat Emprer all arond 40-45 cm.

Decided we had had enough as it was heavy squalls of rain by then and headed in. Sea had settled a bit and as we got in close the sun came out so we trolled a few garfish that we had in the bait bin.

Bingo, Spaniard on board in the first 15 minutes. Not a huge one but a good 7-8 kg. Lines back out and 10 minutes later smashed again on the same rod. This one put up a great fight however, the TLD 15 handled the 15 kg fish with ease. He had a couple of nice runs and my shoulders and back are telling me about it this morning but it was all worth it .

Did hear on the radio that there were a few boats out there with problems yesterday and the Coast Guards were kept busy. Hope you all made it home safe guys.

Looking forward to the next Spaniard raid and may leave the Banks alone until the weather settles, the Northerlies P@#s Off, and the Snapper come on the bite. All day at work and then all night on the boat makes for a very tired drive home and an arduous boat wash.

So many fish, so little time!

I Can Bouch For That When It Comes To Working All Day And Then Going Fishing .it Certainly Is Hard Work Especially When It Comes To Cleaning The Boat And All The Gear, but We All Keep Doing It Over&over Again.cant Wait For The Northlies To Disappear And Temps Lower.welldone
