    1st GT

Went on the spin for Choppers at Burleigh Heads this morning. GAZILLIONS of biting midgees before the sun came up - did not think to spray b4 leaving home Used my E-Bay slice lures ($20 for 7 !!) Only this time I have replaced the suspect trebles with a single 6/0 French.
3rd cast of the morning hooked a decent Tailor (42cm)
Then all went quiet. Water was pretty clear, and not much chop either.
Moved around to the carpark area where the "coffee-foam" was working much better. 2nd throw and I hooked my first GT since coming to Oz 6 months ago ...... OK, so it only came in at 44cm (so nothing GIANT about this GT) but as you guys will all know ..... what a good fight on the light tackle !!
Thought there'd be more of them around, but 45min later nothing doing, then snagged up the lure on the reef - so packed it in for the morning.
Anyway ... these Forsyth lures off E-Bay work really well .... just replace the hooks before you give them a try

I have caught some small silvers down there, good fun on the light gear.
        What gear were you using?

        Cheers, Mick.
