    Fraser Island Fishing Inside

    Hi All,
I am planning a trip up the inside of Fraser this year, and I am trying to decide on the best time of year for weather, fishing and avoiding the westerlies.

I would like to go up early March or late July, but not sure if this is the best time.
I am planning to camp at Wathumba Creek (and I am aware of the tidal access restrictions at low tide, but this is ok). If I need to get the boat out for a low tide fish excursion, I will anchor it outside (weather pending).

I thought in March there will still be a few crabs around and I should be able to (hoping) get a feed or Whiting or Flathead in the creek or out on the beach.
Can anyone tell me what the fishing is like in March and July? What time of year is best for this area?

I will be carrying plenty of fuel and would like to try a few reefs.
I have searched many forums, but none I have found really give me the answers I am looking for. If you have any links to good ones, I would really appreciate them?

    Thanks in Advance!

March would be the go if you're wanting no westerlies - usually sth easter. July would be touch and go for westeries. only probs with onshore winds on inside fraser....sandflies from the entire island congregate on the western side...especially in the warmer months. if you can put up with that, i reckon march would be the safer bet.
