    Mid-Bay 12th Feb

Left Vic Pt ramp about 9am ti fish the gentlemans hours of the day.

Headed out to around North Macleay in 10m of water. Picked up a couple sharks straight away. Kept 1, threw the others back. Lots of pickers and small squire in between, but nothing of decent size. Moved east closer to blaxleys but more of the same, small fish and nothing of size.

Moved north nearer to Peel for not even a bite... Wind picked up to 15kn and the bay chopped up real quick... Back west to drift around banana banks and up comes a good size shark about 1m. Into the esky for a total of 2 (yes there were two of us on the boat so 1 each)

Now wind blowing closer to 20kn as forecast and choppy as hell. Back to around southern side of coochie for not much, then southeast and up comes some larger squire around 30cm mark... a very nice dinner plate size, but again, thrown back because undersize... Also caught a few nice grassy sweetlip but again too small... Also one mud flatty at 30cm but too small

Back to ramp with the two sharks and about 50 throwback fish... Again confirmed difficulty in catching anything of legal size in middle of the bay

The biggest catch was a good dose of sunburn... Had sunscreen on every hour but still not enough

Mate sounds like it was still a good day out on the bay. I would have swapped your day for mine. A couple sharks in the esky is still ok in my books. Well done and thank's for the report
