    Help with directions

    Hi Guys
I am taking a couple of mates off the Gold Coast on the weekend, I have a couple of spots to try around the 24 F area. Does anyone have a couple of markes that have fished ok recently (obviously not you best spots but somewhere we can get a feed) either at the 24's, closer of even 36F. I will be bottom fishing for reefies etc. Perhaps even a PM if you don't want them public. Thanks

    Hi Mate,

I could give you a couple of marks, but honestly? I really think if you follow your nose in an E/SE direction till you see the bottom come up to 37/40mtrs you will be looking OK. The bottom continues to deepen out from the seaway, 20mtrs .... 30 mtrs.... 50mtrs then comes up to 37 to 40. Start looking there. It generally means 15 to 20 minutes out from the seaway @ 40km/r and you will see groups of boats there from sun up. I was given some "Marks" by Roscoe which don't appear much on the sounder as far as structure goes, but for some reason bait schools congragate there in 47mtrs of water, which is only another 10 mins out from the 24's. Find the bait and watch your sounder.

My guess is that there might be a current line with a dirty side and a clean side, I am only guessing. We have had a heap of rain so not sure. There will be a heap of debris in the water.

Hey Rosco, you told me mullet fillets for Trag jew, so that's what I did, only I got tired of waiting, stuck the mullet dropper rig in the rod holder, then tossed out a 5" pink shine Gulp on the other rig. So I caught a Trag on the pink shine and a snapper on the Mullet fillet. Not the way it was supposed to be!!

Sporty, obviously mullet fillet works, but I am 95% plastics for my fishing

    Thanks guys

went out yesterday through thr seaway, used mullet fillets. Caught a feed of parrot, trag and flathead. lots of little pickers looked like sweep and sgt baker and heaps of shows on the sounder. fished mainly the 24 fathoms south to surfers. Great day but the seaway was interesting at 1pm on bottom of the tide and NE sea breeze. wouldn't want to be in a small boat heading back in. The current on the 24's was racing after the NE breeze kicked in had trouble staying on the bottom with 1lb lead,. Thanks for the advice enjoyed the day.
