just wondering if anybody has tried fishing regatta lake in coomera. it is the one located next to the oxenford boat ramp(the one next to the M1. i read a sign saying it contains marine life and wondered whether it held any fish.

Mate did a job in one of the houses around it , walked down for a look saw poddys getting about ,
Would say there would be all sorts of surprises in there
might give a try tommorow morning with some livies. i'll let you know how i go
try fishing near the pipes that connect the lake to the coomera river on the top of the tide when the water is running into the lake
plenty of good fish in the lake
where abouts are the pipes from the watersports club
how did you go?
"True Blue"
unfortunately havent been out yet. will try to get out there tommorow
gave it a try this morning with pilchards and prawns at the highway end but not even a bite. i wonder if your allowed to put a boat in there.
Give it about a month to recover from all the fresh, and then expect big flatties and bream. I once caught a tarpon in there. You can use any motorless watercraft. You often see kayaks, rowboats and windsurfers in there.
Its all a bit average for fishing. The river is much better.
If you want a good lake, try Emerald Lakes at Carrara, or the lake at 19th av Palm Bch.
cheers
Andrew
Fishing- It's only an addiction if you're trying to quit.
I can vouch for the lake on 19th ave, some very good fish in there!
