Hi, I just bought 3.85 explorer with 15hp and intend on fishing and crabbing in dams ,rivers both salt and fresh. Could someone give me some help with what type of sounder to get, I have been looking at hummingbird. Thankyou
I have a Eagle 480 and it seems ok for my uses, which are similar to yours. Contact Mr Boats from this site and get the good oil from him. Will talk no BS.
Whatever you decide to get, make sure you install it properly to minimise unwanted interference.
Rather than letting the unit run on automatic, get someone with experience to help you tune it in manually and to show you how to interpret what the unit is telling you.
there are a number of good units out there, might I suggest you start with a budget figure first? then assess your options within that price range. may even be slightly better hummingbird model within your budget.
