    lenthalls froggin

went out again to get a bit more surface action ,the weather was a bit in my favour this time as there was a front on the way and the clouds gave me a repreive from the heat.i have been using the usual slickies and hards bodies for no results it has been strange of late as 95% of my fish have come on the frogs,i will go into a bay flick all the norms around for nil results, put a frog on and the fun begins there doesnt seem to be a patten any time of day any weather ,this time was no different found a great wind blown bay only lure to work was the frog ,this fish went real hard ,had me stiched up a few times but on landing him it was my pb for the dam going 820mm ,these fish are growing fast and putting good weight on ,the start of summer they were around 700 to 730mm now they average 770 to 790 ,with the odd bigger fish in amongst them ,look out next summer cheers AL

Getting some good consistency there at Lenthalls Al, well done. Are you focusing on the areas with lots of lilies and you burning the frog back fast or fairly steady? - cheers Richard

    Re: lenthalls froggin

richard there is defininatly a speed which gets them going ,i am using the squidgy frogs ,there have been a few people tell me they dont work (wont swim, cant get them up on surface, spin around etc) well they work brilliantly there is a knack to getting them up on the surface but once there they can be swam slow and just tick over with a nice bubble trail coming out the back ,this is what is working at the moment ,with the frog spinning over thats no prob as the colors reflect up and down and give some contrast ,i am over 60 barra for the season now out there and 95% has come on the squidgy frogs and new bozo frogs

Al, firstly well done and nice fish. When you say 'slow', what are you talking about? A speed where you just create a V? Paddle tail soft plastic slow? Just rolling over? Have tried the squidy frogs and just can't raise any interest. Change to popper/fizzer/walk the dog type and boom!

    Thanks

steve slow for me is getting the frog up on the surface first with quick winding ,i aim 3 mtrs behind the target area to get the frog working before it gets into the zone ie logs ,groups of lillies with the frogs i click the bail arm over before it lands in the water so i can wind straight away once its working i slow right down till it ticks along with small bubbles flicking up ,hope this helps
