humminbird 798cx si vs lowrance hds7
Hi all been in the shops playing with both and cant decide. if anyone who has experience with these units could give me some pro's and con's would be appreciated i wanted the lowrance but posts about reliability have put me off and does the humminbird have the same issues?

I have decided to go with the Lowrance HDS8 with LSS-1 on our new Haines - hope to fit it in the next few weeks

Here is a link to a post I have just done with screen shots from a HDS7 with LSS1.
The settings have been left as they were staright out of the box for the structurescan and I have not played with them yet as i want to work ot a base line for improvements etc.

Joe - Lowrance/Navico are not paying me a cent - I only get a trade discount from my previous history in the industry - which I could have received from other manufacturers as well - I chose to go with Lowrance & am a proud member on their pro-staff
I have not once told any one how good the product is - I have only shown what is available & the information to back it up. I also have not once criticized any other brand
I'll be sure to post some of my "own" screen shots once on the water however
