    New Leccy for my Quinnie

I've just bought a new 54lb bow mounted Watersnake electric motor and need to mount it to my 2005 Quintrex Hornet Trophy. Now I don't want to debate the Watersnake v Minn Kota etc, as it was all I could afford and got a good deal from the boating camping and fishing place when they had 15% off, and it was basically this one or nothing.
Now, what I would love is people to post their pics of their bow mounted electric motors. Preferably of similiar vessels, but I can still get it ideas from other configurations. So, if you have pics, please post them and any advise that you may have for me would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ross

    Ross,

I have a Minn Kota bowmounted on my Seajay Escape. Not the same hull as yours however can do photos if you need them from a Seajay.

The Seajay Escape has a bowmounting plate welded to the deck. Does yours have this? If not you may need to strengthen where you are going to mount it.

It's raining as well speak so I can duck out and get photos over the weekend

Thanks Steve, that would be great. I don't have a bow mounting bracket, and may even have to get the grab rail on the bow trimmed back. I'm thinking I may need to get a bowmounting plate welded on and get a quick release bracket to go on that. My next search would be for someone to weld that for me.
    Cheers,

    Ross,

I'll get some photos today, just have to wait until the rain stops sometime as it's thundering down here in Mackay last night and this morning.

My Seajay has low bow rails and the Escape model has a fair gap between thme at the bow, specifically for mounting an electric.

    Later, I'll get a photo or 2.

    Ross,

Have a bowmount bracket on my Explorer Trophy and the Hornets that I have seen with bowmount have as well.

Just do a search on Google for Quintrex Hornet Bowmount Photo and you will find some on other sites. Tried putting link here but didn't work.

Have a quick release bracket on mine as well, if you have rails you will have to alter that area as well.

Love my bowmount and wouldn't be without it.

Photo attached, had to search a bit, it was when I picked it up from the boatyard.

Good luck and hope this helps

Thanks Steve. The bow looks similiar to mine except mine does not have any mounting plate. That's very unobtrusive on yours.
