    Brissie river sat 30 th

Big tide this morning so I had a late start and a sleep in looking to fish around the top of the tide. Had 2 light bream combos with one set up with a Sx 48 and that was the only lure I used for the day. Got hit close to the mangroves by a fiesty little Trev at 35 cm ,from that time on i had a steady procession of fish for a couple of hours. I hooked about 7 bream with 3 finding their way into the live well the other 4 were legal but only around 26cm. Scored 2 flathead, one at 42 and one at 69 cms. Of course I had to score a pike as well and dropped a few hits but one was a huge lizard who ran like a freight train and then took to the skys like a polaris missle ,clearing the water by a couple of feet. Bloody awsome sight this flathead thinking it was a small black he hit the water and had a few head shakes and him and the lure parted ways with me astounded. It was a great fish but he certainlly put in the effort and he won and I was just HAPPY with the show Anyway finished the day with the same little SX 48 in green. He performed well so he might get a start on the run on side on the next trip Cheers

Headbanger... Mate it was an awsome sight ,only in about 1m of water and this bloke was verticle straight up. you could only imagine the power this fish generated to achieve this. Made my day

Dobson... Can't tell you mate what they taste like, I released the trev and bream after a holiday in my well. He took off like he was brand new.

Creek Vermin... Hi Keith, first job on the list tomorrow is to pop into the camera shop and buy one. I've been struggling for to long.

Huski... Your joking mate he was serious about moving a house, LOL ,Best of luck tomorrow and you will see me tuesday night. No moving houses are we?

I would have to agree with that!!!

I've spent a bit of time in the past chasing them in shallow water, and love it when they jump.... they tend to do that more frequently on Poppers too...

Nice work chief just in the usual haunts for you? I'm keen to get back on the water as my Merc stopped firing a few saturdays ago I'll hopefully get her running again and see you out on the river, if I don't get on the 450 and hit the tracks... Great catch though the Trevs are fun on the light gear. tight lines
