    Scott,

Sounds like Const Plod missed an opportunity there - I would have double tapped murphy on the spot. Will it also go for a small child if they failed to stop?

    cheers, HR

Hard-ened steel probably means a lot more hard-earned to get one.

Pardon my ignorance but wouldn't an angle grinder also make short work of hardened steel?

A cutter might not but I suspect that an abrasive would.

'Tis an honest question - I just don't know.

    BTW, excellent thread, Greg.

    Pinhead...what brand was it???

I'm looking at buying one in the next couple of weeks.

I used to use a Klamp-it and found it very good however after a a couple of years the lock on that broke and it wouldn't lock anymore.

    Re: wheel clamp on trailer

I always do overnighters, sometimes 2 or 3 nights out. Don't have my own personal ramp either. Have to use public ramps. Trailer stealing is rampent (?) in Vic. Some ramps are suitable for security (my favorite is to reverse into a bank, large tree or substantial structure) Not always possible. There are serious chains Kryptonite etc, but they cost about $200 each. They are suppose to take about an hour to cut with a 18v grinder. Currently I chain ALL wheels + other deterrents. Still no guarantees. Why do we have do this? Anyone got any creative solution?

I was going to by a wheel clamp, wont bother now. I was thinking maybe 1/2 inch stainless steel chain around the wheels and axles.
