Hi Guys,
Sorry about the late post but been busy with work. Last Saturday we headed out off the Gold Coats Chaseing some Blacks and were lucky enough to have a ball. Headed Out at 5am with me and the old boy on Murphy's Law for some Blacks as they have shown up FINALLY. We got to our grounds and started to hunt for bait schools.. Wasn't long before we seen a charter Boat Hooked up so out the Baits went. Only lasted around 5 mins before we had Our first one taking off, I jumped on the rod as Dad had caught all of the fish during the Tournament so it was my turn to become the angler Slash rod grabber. We knocked over the First fish in around 15mins with her putting on a great aireal display for the other boats, with an est weight of 60kg and an est short length of 1.6 to 1.7 short length. Went back up and did the same pattern with the second rod screaming off, Dads turn, again we hooked up to a solid black with a estimated weight of 45 to 50kg. We went back up and called a couple of mates in as we were marking fish all over the place, again the rod starts to scream this time our mate was around 80m to the nw of us when the billy came up out of the water right beside the boat, nearly going in the boat hitting the bow rail and layed beside his hull bill wacking and leaving some nice scratches on the side of his hull, it was an unbelievable site to see, and we wish we had the video camera. We all had a bit of a laugh as craig yells at us he only likes bill scratchs when its his billy doing it. After that little episode we worked the same area for most of the time and stayed with the same technique and produced another 2 fish for the day.
We called it a day at midday with our first 5 for![]()

. Stats for the day was 5, 5, 5 on all 8kg with fish estimated at 60kg 50kg and the rest 30kg. We were blessed with near perfect conditions as photos will explain and a perfect day on the water. Hope you like the Photo's as we were taken them whilst backing down
