Went down the coast with the old man on Monday night to try to get my first seq jack, after putting in under the bridge, we headed up the Nerang, and dropped a crab pot. Took out the cast net and rounded up some much needed livies. After an hr or so, we had enough to last us quite a while. Tried a few spots around the moorings and rock edges, and just on dark, the drag screemed, and after 1 and a half semi circles trying to find something to bust me off on, i reeled in my first jack in seq, not a monster, but its the right colour. he went 42cm. fished for another 2hrs and 30 mins after landing the jack i got hit by what i thought was a jack till it went out in the open and stole line off my spool, a nice silver trevally, was probly about 60cm or so, broke my leader right at the boat. I was gonna release him anyways. With only a few half runs after that(probly bream), checked the pot on the way back and got 1 sandy. Not a bad nights fishing, poor old man only got a small eel(slimy ####ers).
