well spent a few days up at borumba dam....what can i say great spot, great fishing...ill be back for sure...This trip was for only one reason to get myself a saratoga and i wasnt dissapointed...after a long 6 hour drive we finally made it to the dam to set up camp after dropping in to the fishing shop at imbil to say hi and see what was happening....it was 30 odd degrees and i was drenched setting up our camp so we could fish...second cast of the arvo had me hooked into a toga but he jumped and broke me off..... wasnt happy i kept going seeing a few toga swimming off the top and it wasnt long till i finally had my toga. .over the next 2 days i dropped and landed alot of togas as well as 1 yella...and bagged afew redclaw for the table..they were great chewing...heres a few piccys...cheers brett

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

Re: borumba togas

Well done Brett on achieving your goal on the Togas and getting a few of them at that. Nothing like a successful trip away. I have never been to Borumba but there sure sounds like there is a lot of Togas in there. We are slowly building up a population of them at Hinze as well but not the quantities of Borumba. - cheers Richard

Re: borumba togas

Well done brett,

You are absolutely right. Borumba dam is a beautiful and scenic dam to fish, although it is a fair drive from Brisbane Southside, due to the poor windie roads to get there.

If you can recall my lad and I went up there in early January and landed the the 90cm Toga. http://www.ausfish.com.au/vforum/sho...d.php?t=159486

Did the hints and tips that you asked for work for you, and Did you catch the Togas in the Yabba Creek arm like we did?

Mate once again well done for a successful fishing trip and thanks for the report. Like you, we will be back up there soon, because we thoroughly enjoyed the fishing action and loved the quiet serenity.

Cheers
