Re: Tailor and Trevs at Teewah
The run out brought the south easter on which started out at just a few knots but was pushing 20 by the time I came home for lunch. Still very fishable with no swell on, but the surf has greened up a bit with the change and the rocks were distinctly less visible. Wall to wall terns out a few hundred helped to recreate optimism that fish should still be available though, and it didn't take long to find one.
Just a chopper, but half way in it started behaving like it had a shark chasing it. 2 spaniards that leaped simultaneously with the chopper told the story and they left me the head. Was half an hour before any tailor came back into the gutter with good choppers suddenly pouncing on every lure for 6 or so fish before another spaniard attack spooked the tailor with low tide approaching and southerly gusting. Unfortunately the mackerel were more interested in the tailor than the slug, but nice to know they're feeding inshore.
Won't bother going back down this afternoon and will see what conditions are like tomorrow, but around the low tide should be workable again - algae permitting.
