    spotties, what the?

    gday men,

i heard that the spotties were on the chew up at old woman and out of pt cartwright on the radio today, so did a slow lap from just south of the caloundra
bar all the way home to bribie and couldnt find any action. thought for sure i would stumble across a few but no cigar. seems to be that they are pushed up a bit higher at the moment?

just a observation in case anybody was going to waste fuel looking along bribie.
    cheers dale

Noosa has been pretty hot for spotties this year.

However one day they might be feeding on the surface and the next day they are down deep.

They may have been down deep where you were and slow trolling with baits and lead will be the way to go.....did you have a crack with baits..?

    Re: spotties, what the?

    Geday Dale,
    Thanks for the trip .
Guys on the way back from Near caloundra bar to the bottom of Bribie ,we saw a number of large boils of fish but they were very skitish & when you could get close enough , throughing a slug at them was enough to spook & put them down .
Over the morning we tried slugs of varying sizes , full & 1/2 pillies without much luck .
Between the 3 of us all we could manage way 1 Schoolie & a number of bits off's on the pillies .

We got 9 good schoolies this morning up to 65cm. All were on the bottom and took small slugs cranked flatout from the bottom.
Fished at the Measured mile beacons very early
